Green Plaid Roses in a Revere Bowl

$ 145.00

Several months ago, seven yards of green and black plaid taffeta appeared in the endless stream of abandoned fabric that flows past my studio. It may have been intended for matching holiday skirts or perhaps a bridesmaid's dress; someone changed her mind. I jumped.

The 10" Revere Bowl appeared at about the same time. It is silverplate and lightly scratched from assertive polishing. It has no engraving.

The classic bowl called for a classic arrangement of roses; the green and black roses needed a bit of grounding. Black moire satin rosebuds accent the larger flowers.

Each fabric flower is built on a wire stem. A few paper leaves dress the edges of the arrangement.

The arrangement is roughly 12-14" in each direction and about 9" from the table. Flowers can be rearranged or removed. The glue is waterproof but this arrangement is intended for indoor use only; the fabrics are not treated for outdoor use and will fade in direct sunlight.

There is more fabric in this colorway; it will be made up into arrangements soon. Please contact me if you would like more flowers like this and I will let you know when they are available.

The arrangement will ship in a large carton packed with egg crate foam. It will need fluffing and adjusting when it arrives; the stems will bend and can be straightened.

Forever Flowers from KarenTiedeStudio are fabric flowers, individually handmade from upcycled upholstery remnants and fabrics leftover from abandoned sewing projects. Fabrics are not purchased new at retail, although some may be collected from "last yard" bins at fabric stores. Many fabrics are acquired when lifelong quilters and sewists donate or sell their stash.
