Fat Quarter Pitcher

$ 145.00

Fat Quarter Pitcher was created as an experiment in making flowers from quilters' "Fat Quarters," that is, quarter-yard cuts of quilting cottons cut on the cross, rather than long-ways. (21x18" pieces). Fat Quarters are fun to work with because it's easy to collect a range of patterns and color variations without having to invest in full yards of fabric.

Each fabric flower is built on a wire stem. The pink flowers are made from felt; the leaves are paper.Handmade paper leaves complete the arrangement, which is built in a blue-green polycarbonate container.

The arrangement is roughly 12-14" in each direction. Flowers can be rearranged or removed. The glue is waterproof but this arrangement is intended for indoor use only; the fabrics are not treated for outdoor use and will fade in direct sunlight.

This arrangement is one-of-two in this colorway;

The arrangement will ship in a large carton packed with egg crate foam. It will need fluffing and adjusting when it arrives; the stems will bend and can be straightened.

Forever Flowers from KarenTiedeStudio are fabric flowers, individually handmade from upcycled upholstery remnants and fabrics leftover from abandoned sewing projects. Fabrics are not purchased new at retail, although some may be collected from "last yard" bins at fabric stores. Many fabrics are acquired when lifelong quilters and sewists donate or sell their stash.
